Instructional Design with AI

Overview

The Instructional Design feature lets you upload source materials and have AI generate a complete, structured course from them.

How It Works

1. Upload your materials

   From the content library, click New content > Instructional design with AI. Upload your source documents:

   • PowerPoint (PPTX) — Presentations are parsed slide by slide
   • PDF documents — Text and structure are extracted
   • Text files — Plain text content

2. AI analyzes and structures

   The AI reads your materials and proposes a course structure:

   • Lessons based on topics or sections
   • Appropriate brick types for each piece of content
   • Evaluation questions to test comprehension

3. Review and customize

   Preview the proposed course structure. You can:

   • Rename lessons
   • Reorder content
   • Remove sections you don't want
   • Adjust the structure before generation

4. Generate the course

   Confirm the structure and the AI generates the full course with:

   • Formatted text content
   • Images and media references
   • Evaluation questions with correct answers
   • Appropriate brick types for each section

Tips for Best Results

• Structured documents produce better results — use headings, sections, and clear organization
• Include visuals in your PPTX — they'll be referenced in the generated course
• Review and edit the generated content — AI provides a strong foundation, but human review ensures quality
• Add assessments manually where the AI didn't generate them
