Credits

Understand how AI credits work and manage your organization's balance.

Overview

Credits are the currency for AI operations in Bricks. Every AI feature — content generation, translation, image creation, text-to-speech — consumes credits from your organization's balance.

How Credits Work

  1. Your organization has a credit balance that is consumed when AI features are used
  2. Before each AI operation, the system estimates the cost and checks your balance
  3. If you have sufficient credits, the operation proceeds
  4. After completion, the actual cost (based on AI model usage) is deducted
  5. If the balance is insufficient, the operation is blocked with a notification

Credit Sources

Credits can come from:

SourceDescription
SubscriptionCredits included with your plan, granted at each billing cycle
PurchaseAdditional credit packs purchased separately
BonusPromotional credits from campaigns or offers

Credit Cost Factors

The cost of an AI operation depends on:

  • Model used — More capable models cost more per token
  • Input size — Amount of text sent to the AI
  • Output size — Amount of text generated by the AI
  • Operation type — Different features have different cost profiles

Checking Your Balance

View your credit balance and transaction history at: Organization > Settings > Billing > Credits

The credit panel shows:

  • Current balance — Available credits
  • Transaction history — Recent credit usage and purchases
  • Usage breakdown — Credits consumed by feature

Credit Transactions

Each credit movement is tracked with:

  • Operation type (generation, translation, etc.)
  • AI model used
  • Tokens consumed (input + output)
  • Credit amount
  • Timestamp

If a credit deduction fails (e.g., due to a system error), the AI operation still completes and the failure is logged for reconciliation. You won't be charged twice.

Running Out of Credits

When your balance reaches zero:

  • All AI features become unavailable
  • Non-AI features (editor, sharing, collaboration) continue working normally
  • Purchase more credits or wait for your next subscription renewal
