Personal vs Organization
Understand the two scopes for managing content in Bricks.
Two Scopes
Bricks has two scopes for content management, each with different capabilities.
Personal Scope
Your personal workspace is where you start. It's tied to your individual account.
- Create and manage your own content
- Full editor access with all brick types
- Organize content in folders
- Share content via links
- No team collaboration
- No AI features (requires organization)
Organization Scope
Organizations are collaborative workspaces for teams. When you switch to an organization context, you get access to additional features.
- Everything from personal scope, plus:
- Team collaboration — Invite members and work together
- Real-time editing — Multiple users can edit simultaneously
- AI features — Content generation, translation, image generation, and more
- Credit system — Manage AI usage with credits
- Role-based access — Owner, Admin, and Member roles
- Shared content library — All members can access org content
Switching Between Scopes
Use the scope selector in the sidebar to switch between your personal workspace and any organizations you belong to.
When you switch scopes, the content library updates to show only the content belonging to that scope.
When to Use Each
| Use Case | Recommended Scope |
|---|---|
| Personal projects or learning | Personal |
| Team content creation | Organization |
| AI-powered content generation | Organization |
| Client work with collaboration | Organization |
| Quick prototyping | Personal |
AI features — including content generation, translation, image generation, and AI-assisted editing — are only available within an organization scope because they consume credits from the organization's balance.
